Tax Attorney
Help for your IRS problem
Tax laws can vary depending on the type of business you own. However, no matter how you operate, once you’re caught up with the IRS you might just find yourself lost in the red tape - and in need of some help.
The IRS can complicate your financial matters in a number of different ways - you may be audited, and if you owe back taxes, they can go to extreme lengths to get that money from you. Some business owners have found themselves suffering from levies, wage garnishment, property and possession liens and even seizure.
Don’t Go It Alone
Dealing with the IRS can be complicated, stressful and downright unpleasant! When you’re looking at your business financials, it might be best to enlist the help of a tax attorney. Their experience and expertise can help you avoid the worst the IRS can offer, and can make your tax issues quick and easy to deal with.
Most tax attorneys will meet with you free of charge to do an assessment of your needs and suggest some possibilities for your IRS resolution. When you’re looking for a good tax attorney, ask yourself:
- What is the attorney’s reputation? Have you ever heard of the attorney before? Does he or she come recommended by other local business owners? Are you aware of their success stories - or perhaps more importantly, their failures?
- What is the attorney’s background? Most successful tax attorneys will have education or experience in accounting as well, which can be an asset.
- What is the attorney’s fee schedule? What and how can you expect to pay? Does he or she work on a fixed or hourly rate? You need to know the charges up front!
- What kind of organization does the attorney work with? Can you be sure that you’re going to be dealing with the same person all the time, or will different attorneys represent you depending on the schedule of the firm? Are you comfortable with having different attorneys or will you require one person to consistently deal with your case? You need to feel at ease with the process in order to get the most out of it.
- How comfortable are you with the attorney? You’re going to be spending a lot of time with this person, and offering up personal information, so you have to make sure your attorney is someone you don’t mind opening up to. You also want to make sure you know he or she has your best interests in mind, so you can feel confident in their suggestions and their representation.
