Great Online PR Solutions
You can save money and time by putting some thought into an online public relations strategy. Don’t be scared off by technology or the unfamiliar. Some easy things you can do include:
- Start a blog. Blogs have been proven time and again to attract attention. Use short, witty pieces to get people onto your site, and then take advantage by leading them into other sections (and sales!). A blog can be easy and fun to maintain; you can be chatty and personal, and really develop a relationship with your readers. Just make sure it’s industry specific - people will feel deceived if you draw them in with a discussion about the latest fashion craze, then offer them a site filled with manufacturing news and equipment.
- Participate in online communities. While you’ll have to put some time and effort into becoming a ‘regular,’ posting and commenting in forums and groups that relate to your business can get your name out as an expert. This ups your credibility and allows people to trust you.
- Take advantage of online resources. There are tons of sites out there where you can send out a press release, post your latest news or purchase banner advertising space. Get into e-zines, message boards and directory sites. If you do some searching, you can even find them for low or no cost. Get your name out there!
- Try something new. The Internet changes at a rapid pace; if you find yourself in the right spot at the right time you can get maximum exposure. Keep up to date on web trends, and do your best to participate on all the hot sites. Your audience can’t help but notice if your name is attached to the latest craze.
